WILMINGTON, Del. — Avelo Airlines will increase flights from Wilmington Airport to Orlando this fall and restore seasonal service to San Juan, Puerto Rico, the company announced Tuesday.
Beginning Oct. 1, Avelo will double its Orlando service to four flights a week, adding Wednesday and Saturday departures to its existing Monday and Friday schedule.

The carrier will also resume its San Juan route on Oct. 1 after a monthlong break. The Puerto Rico service will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with extra flights planned around Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Avelo began flying from Wilmington in February 2023, offering low-fare service to Florida and other destinations. The Houston-based airline serves 49 cities in the United States, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Last year, Avelo ranked first among U.S. carriers for on-time performance and had the industry’s lowest cancellation rate, according to aviation data company Anuvu.
