Stormin’s Turkey Giveaway Celebrating 36 Years in Delaware Food Lion

For thirty six years, Norman Oliver, has led an effort in Wilmington to organize a holiday turkey giveaway to assist families and seniors. This year Oliver continues to take the effort statewide with a goal of providing 6,000 families with turkeys in Wilmington, New Castle, Kent and Sussex Counties. This is by far the biggest and boldest goal to date for Oliver after starting 36 years ago with feeding four homeless men under the bridge in Wilmington.

Turkey distribution sites have already been established throughout the State in conjunction with the local branches of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware where turkeys will be distributed on Tuesday, November 20th along with other locations as listed in this news release. In addition, many local churches and community centers will also be recipients of this year’s turkeys.
