Mayor Purzycki Encourages You to Enjoy City Restaurant Week in Wilmington

April 19, 2023

Wilmington’s culinary rite of spring, City Restaurant Week [outandaboutnow.com], returns for its 18th year, running from Monday, April 24 through Saturday, April 29. This annual promotion provides an excellent incentive to visit one of Wilmington’s destination restaurants – a roster that has expanded significantly over the past several years. CRW’s 2023 lineup features 18 of Wilmington’s finest eating establishments, each owner-operated. Once again, diners will be treated to an array of menus offering everything from Asian to French to Italian. Pre-fixe, two-course lunches are $15; three-course dinners are $35 or $50.

This year’s roster includes Bardea Food & Drink [bardeawilmington.com], Bardea Steak [bardeasteak.com], Café Mezzanotte [cafemezzanotte.net], Chelsea Tavern [chelseatavern.com], Ciro Food & Drink [cirofoodanddrink.com], Dorcea [dorcea.com], Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen [meetatgrain.com], Le Cavalier at the Green Room [lecavalierde.com], Mikimotos [mikimotos.com], Oath ’84 [oath84.com], Piccolina Toscana [piccolinatoscana.com], Santa Fe Mexican Grill [santafemexicangrill.com], The Quoin [thequoinhotel.com], Tonic Seafood & Steak [tonicsns.com], Ubon Thai Kitchen & Bar [ubonthaicuisine.com], Walter’s Steakhouse [walters-steakhouse.com], Washington Street Ale House [wsalehouse.com], and Wilma’s [goodtimewilmas.com]. Reservations are strongly suggested. “I’m delighted to welcome City Restaurant Week back to Wilmington,” said Mayor Purzycki.  “This popular annual tradition is the perfect time to remind residents and visitors alike that dining out supports our small businesses as well as entire communities.” “Our City is home to some pretty amazing restaurants,” the Mayor continued, “and if further proof were needed, we get to kick things off on Sunday when the prestigious James Beard Foundation brings together Wilmington’s finest chefs for a special family-style Sunday Supper at The Chancery Market Food Hall and Bar.” The Mayor thanked James Beard Foundation CEO Clare Reichenbach, along with the It’s Time Campaign and Johnson Commercial Real Estate, for bringing this fantastic event to Wilmington’s newest food hall, located at 1313 Market Street. “I very much look forward to Sunday’s dinner and to seeing everyone around town next week enjoying some delicious food and good company,” said the Mayor. “City Restaurant Week is a great opportunity for people to try new items and flavors and gives our line chefs an opportunity to express their creativity,” says John Constantinou, owner of Walter’s Steakhouse on North Union Street. “I have participated in City Restaurant Week since it started because the event promotes the fine dining scene in Wilmington and introduces Cafe Mezzanotte to potential new patrons,” says Sergio Pelligrino, owner of Caffe Mezzanotte in Downtown Wilmington.Chase [chase.com] is the presenting sponsor of City Restaurant Week 2023, in partnership with the City of Wilmington, Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitors Bureau [visitwilmingtonde.com], Mix 99.5 WJBR [wjbr.com], Out & About Magazine [outandaboutnow.com], Lagunitas Brewing [lagunitas.com], and Heineken Silver [heineken.com]. For more information, visit www.cityrestaurantweek.com [outandaboutnow.com].
