The Philadelphia 76ers extended their win streak to five games with a 122-119 overtime win over the Memphis Grizzlies at The Center. This win streak is tied for the third-longest active streak in the league and is the third-longest for Philadelphia this season after having streaks of seven and six earlier this year.

The 76ers also improved their overall record to 31-19 and are now 2-1 in overtime games this season, making them one the eighth team to have at least two wins in extra time (Stathead). As it stands, the 76ers stand a half-game behind Chicago and Miami for first place in the East (

The win marked Philadelphia’s fourth game this year with at least 30 assists and their second in their last three games. The team is 4-0 in those games (Stathead). It was also the third time this season the 76ers had at least four players with five-or-more assists (Elias Sports Bureau).

Philadelphia got out to a strong start as they posted a 39-point first quarter which tied a season-high for the opening frame (Stathead).

For the game, Philadelphia drained 11 three-pointers, improving its record to 26-12 in games where they have double-figure makes from deep (Stathead).

Defensively, the 76ers posted a season-best 12 rejections, which was led by a career-high four-block outing from TYRESE MAXEY.
Philadelphia also held Memphis to 6-30 from beyond the arc and now holds a record of 3-0 in games where their opponents have made six-or-fewer threes (Stathead).

By game’s end, Maxey led the team with 33 points, TOBIAS HARRIS added 31 points while ANDRE DRUMMOND collected a game-high 23 rebounds. The last time the 76ers saw two players 30-plus points and a third collect at least 20 rebounds was Jan. 25, 1970, when WALI JONES and ARCHIE CLARK scored over 30 points while Hall of Famer BILLY CUNNINGHAM hauled in 22 rebounds (Elias Sports Bureau).

Maxey did it on both ends as he scored 11 (5-7 FG, 1-2 3FG) of his season-high-tying 33 points in the first quarter. Maxey has three career games of at least 33 points, which is tied for the third-most by a first or second-year player over the past two seasons (Stathead).

Maxey also set a career-high with four blocks against the Grizzlies to go along with eight assists, making him the first 76er primary guard and sixth 76er overall to have a game of at least 30 points, five assists, and four blocks. He joins JULIUS ERVING, JOEL EMBIID, CHARLES BARKLEY, DERRICK COLEMAN and CHRIS WEBBER as the only players to do so in team history (Stathead).

Since Jan. 14, Maxey is one of two NBA players averaging at least 15 points and five assists while shooting 45-percent-or-better from the field and three-point range (

Along with Maxey, Tobias Harris posted his second 30-point game in his last four appearances as he poured in 31 points, five rebounds, and five assists, giving him his first 30-5-5 game of the season and the second of his 76er career (Stathead). With Maxey and Harris both scoring 30 points, Philadelphia has two games with multiple players scoring at least 30 in the same game. The last season in which the 76ers had two such games was 2018-19 (JIMMY BUTLER and Embiid; Embiid and JJ REDICK) (Stathead).

Eighteen of Harris’ points including two made threes and a perfect 4-4 from the foul line came in the first half. Since Jan. 19, Harris is one of two players in the league averaging at least 10 points while shooting 50-50-90 in the first half ( Meanwhile, over that same span, Harris overall is averaging 23.1 points while shooting .561 from the floor and .524 from three, making him the lone player averaging such numbers (Stathead).

Andre Drummond showed his rebounding skillset as he hauled in 23 boards for the second time this season to go along with 16 points, five assists, two steals and three blocks. Drummond’s performance made him the third 76er to post a stat line of at least 15-20-5-2-2, joining Hall of Famers CHARLES BARKLEY (three times) and GEORGE MCGINNIS (one time).  For his career, Drummond now has four such games which are third-most in league history since 1973-74. Only Hall of Famers KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR (13) and HAKEEM OLAJUWON (five) have more (Stathead).

Ten of these rebounds came off of the offensive glass, making him the fifth player to collect double-digit offensive boards and the first 76er to do so since LAVOY ALLEN did so on Feb. 9, 2013 (Stathead).

Since 2000, five 76ers have had a game with at least 10 offensive boards, the list includes Lavoy Allen, SAMUEL DALEMBERT (twice), KENNY THOMAS and DIKEMBE MUTOMBO (Stathead).

For the month of January, JOEL EMBIID averaged 50.8 points, 16.1 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per 48 minutes, becoming the first player in NBA history to average 50-15-5 per 48 in a calendar month (min. 10 games played), per Statitudes.

In the loss, JA MORANT (game-high 37 points) and DESMOND BANE (34 points) led the way for the Grizzlies’ offense. Morant has now scored at least 30 points in seven consecutive games (Stathead). He joins JOEL EMBIID and LEBRON JAMES as the only players in the NBA to have such a streak this season (Stathead).

Morant also added five assists and pulled in five rebounds in the game. He now has 12 games with at least 30 points, at least five assists and at least five rebounds this year, which is the third-most in the league (Stathead).

Bane shot 57-percent (12-21) from the field, 56-percent (5-9) from three, and a perfect 5-5 from the free-throw line in Monday’s game as he set a career-high with 34 points. Bane and Morant have scored at least 30 points in the same game for the second time this season (Stathead).
