Kalmar Nyckel Foundation’s Halloween Ghost Ship Returns – Saturday, October 23

WILMINGTON, DE, September 28 Kalmar Nyckel Foundation’s (KNF) third annual Halloween Ghost Ship cruises into the Copeland Maritime Center for family-friendly activities on Saturday, October 23 from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. Come dressed in your best Halloween costume!

Climb aboard Kalmar Nyckel, for free ship tours of the 141-foot long Tall Ship of Delaware. Explore her history and colonial mechanics with the costumed crew of trained volunteers. Take a fun and spooky Halloween Tour of our Copeland Maritime Center designed around model ships and exhibits. Then choose from Halloween-themed arts and crafts, outdoor pumpkin painting, and join a costume parade on the campus – all hosted by Kenny Family ShopRite Stores and New Castle County.

This event is primarily outdoors and planned around CDC recommended COVID-19 guidelines. KNF plans to provide a healthy, safe, and fun time for all participants. Admission and parking are free with fees for some activities at the Copeland Maritime Center, 1124 E. 7th St., Wilmington, Del.  Please visit KalmarNyckel.org [l.facebook.com] or call 302.429.7447 with questions.

“We are thrilled to be offering a community event with our ship and Halloween activities for children of all ages on our Copeland Maritime Center and shipyard campus again,” explains Cathy Parsells, Executive Director at the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation. Last year’s event was moved to the Wilmington Riverfront with free pumpkins and ship talks but no tours or activities due to COVID.
