Simon Eye doctors will conduct FREE eye exams on each day of the clinic, and VSP Global will provide eyeglasses at no cost to those determined to be in need of corrective lenses. To see a doctor, participants must have a confirmed appointment time. If you or someone you know is experiencing sight problems, contact Earl Cooper in the Mayor’s Office at (302) 576-2133 or via eacooper@wilmingtonde.gov to prequalify and schedule an exam. The deadline to make an appointment is Monday, April 15. Prequalified individuals will be asked to complete a personal health history prior to receiving their exam. There will be no same-day appointments and spots are limited.

“This is such a wonderful program because it provides an almost immediate solution at no cost to people who are in need of an eye exam and eyeglasses if warranted,” said Mayor Purzycki.

“Wilmington is very grateful to Simon Eye and VSP Global for agreeing to present this program again. Left uncorrected, vision problems can affect student or work performance and lead to other sight or health issues later on. This special partnership has come together to provide a needed solution.”

To qualify for an eye exam and glasses, applicants must be a City resident, have a family income within 200% of the federal poverty guidelines and not have coverage for routine eye exams through either private insurance or a government program.
